However I am not able to get your latest C++11 notes.

Can you please let me know how do I get the latest ones?

Thanks,
SarangMr. Xyzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13593628172868619569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-89653122831694531022011-11-03T10:02:21.813-07:002011-11-03T10:02:21.813-07:00Page 14 was what I was thinking about, but I didn&...Page 14 was what I was thinking about, but I didn't read it closely enough to realize that it was using two iterators instead of a container.Robert Zehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12647206624571931529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-43463109316110993932011-11-03T09:43:27.098-07:002011-11-03T09:43:27.098-07:00Can you give an example of where you think a range...Can you give an example of where you think a range-based for should have been used? There are a couple of places on page 14 where I could have used one, but the for loops there work with two iterators rather than with a container, so I'd have to invoke std::make_pair on the iterators in order to turn them into a range, and I frankly think that's more work than what I've got. But perhaps I've overlooked something.

ScottScott Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05280964633768289328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-72450366830333505902011-11-03T07:22:08.613-07:002011-11-03T07:22:08.613-07:00After going through the example, and looking at th...After going through the example, and looking at the word counting example, I was wondering why it didn't use the range based for in some of the for loops?Robert Zehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12647206624571931529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-56073155819758781052011-11-01T12:21:44.411-07:002011-11-01T12:21:44.411-07:00Pete Becker's book, "The C++ Standard Lib...Pete Becker's book, "The C++ Standard Library Extensions," is about TR1 (from 2005), not C++11. The book "Professional C++" (whose URL at Amazon was posted) is, I believe, the book I was thinking of when I wrote my post. Again, I have not read it, but using Amazon's "Search Inside This Book" capability, I got zero hits for "rvalue references", "move semantics", and "perfect forwarding". I don't know if this reflects the content of the book, the limitations of Amazon's search capability, or whether I just did something wrong, but if you're looking for C++11 information, these are certainly terms I'd check for before making a purchase.

ScottScott Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05280964633768289328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-87607304551187324642011-11-01T12:11:43.967-07:002011-11-01T12:11:43.967-07:00Professional C++ mentions they drill down into C++...Professional C++ mentions they drill down into C++11 changes.

http://www.amazon.com/Professional-C-Wrox-Guides/dp/0470932449/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320174617&sr=8-1Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7101933101966798446.post-60428506118790889282011-11-01T11:50:29.829-07:002011-11-01T11:50:29.829-07:00Was that C++11 book, "The C++ Standard Librar...Was that C++11 book, "The C++ Standard Library Extensions: A Tutorial and
Reference" maybe?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
